Title: Have main issues been addressed?
Post by: camperbc on September 16, 2012, 07:58:25 PM
I ordered mine on Sept 5th from Google. (have not yet received it) Do I still need to be worried about screen lift, dead pixels, light bleed, etc, or should I be safe by now? By what date were we starting to see an improvement in quality?

Thanks,
Glen

I haven't heard any of that in a long time now.

I received mine Sept 13th and don't have any issues with it. The screen is fine and there are no dead pixels.

I preordered mine and never had any issues.

Some things get overblown on here.

I ordered mine on sept 7 and got it on the 12th.  The only issue I've had was turning it on the second time.  I called and they told me to hold the power button down for 45 seconds and that fixed it.

The customer service I had was simple yet pretty refreshing compared to other companies I've dealt with.

I have had 2 Nexus 7s.  The first I got just before I went on holida in August.  It had screen lift and I was generally very unimpressed with this as it felt like poor build.

I kept it though and had problems with the screen going off and not being able to come on.  That seemed to go away, but while I was on holiday the screen failed completely - which was a nightmare as I needed it for satnav!!

So I took it back to Tescos and got a new one from Carphone Warehouse.  Tescos asked me if the screen was lifting off as they had been inundated with returns for that and some other issue I could not recall.

My 2nd Nexus is better as it does not have screen lift, but the screen becomes unresponsive often and I have to reboot.  I also notice a lot of apps and games hang or freeze and require a reboot - not sure if that is harward issue though.
