I love Chrome now and it is twice as fast as my stock browser, but it doesn't offer a desktop site except for each individual page (read, manually check after each page loads). Does anyone know if this will change or if there is a workaround?
Please don't ask me to try Opera or Dolphin, also slow. Maybe that is the reason Chrome is faster, because it is not loading the desktop site.

are referring to a Windows machine or an Android device?

On an Android tablet, thanks.

Firefox is my preferred browser with Win7, and I use stock on my LG-P999.
I'm wondering how Firefox would rate vs Chrome on N7.
Mozilla is good 8)

Yes, I run FF on Win 7 as well, but Chrome sure is FAST! I'm thinking if I don't like the stock browser I just might go w/ Chrome, we'll see.

Isn't Chrome the stock browser on the Nexus 7? That's what I've read in every review.
-
Yes, it is. It's a great browser, just no desktop option except manually for each page.

Can you describe what this desktop site option is? I just switched from FF to Chrome on my Win 7 laptop, & don't miss anything. I love the speed increase, and Chrome's ability to close non-responding tabs. FF freeze-ups require entering Task Manager to shut FF down.

The desktop site is the same website you would see on your desktop/laptop computer, not a tablet/phone device version, which is usually streamlined and doesn't show the full-size site because of the reduced screen size
Go to a webpage on Chrome and hit settings bar in upper right corner, check request desktop site, and see if the page looks different. If not, then showing desktop version already. Some websites do, some don't.

Just a small point re Chrome: on a desktop PC, Chrome's cache can reach insane sizes. Many GB. If the same thing is true with the android version, remember to clear the cache sometimes as our storage is so limited.

Does anyone know if there is a way to quickly scroll down on web pages? If I go to a site that has text at the bottom of the page it takes forever to get to it. I have a post on a Google thread and to see the updates is really a hassle. I feel like I am missing something simple to get me from point A to point B.

I played with chrome a bit and I can't seem to find a way either. Does any other browser support scroll bars?

Not sure. I try and use Chrome for everything I can that isn't Flash related. It seems that every browser I have tried has a weak point or two and I always end up back to Chrome.
I hope that green on your fangs isn't my blood.
