Title: Problem playing videos on Nexus 7
Post by: Porschefan on September 18, 2012, 03:50:03 PM
I'm a tablet newbie and for the most part I really like the Nexus 7.   I've noticed that playing embedded videos is a really hit and miss proposition.    Are there some types of videos that the N7 just cannot handle?   Or am I missing some settings or apps?

TIA for any pointers.

If you are new to tablets then give MxPlayer a try it handles everything that I have tried except MKV videos and there are some players that play MKV's, but MxPlayer is easy to use for a novice. It is available at Google Play Here (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&feature=more_from_developer#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEwMiwiY29tLm14dGVjaC52aWRlb3BsYXllci5hZCJd)

I was using MX but then I discovered BS player . The interface is pretty much the same as MX. Slide up and down, for sound and light . Slide across for changing the time or place you are in the movie. BSPLAYER plays the few mkv files I have and everything else I throw at it. I love it and it carries my initials so I am biased. He he

Good one Radio! Prime did you try BS? Did it work for your files? I only have one mkv video. A Football Life. The Reggie White and Jerome Brown Story.

Yes, I did try it and found that I had to change from HW decoding to SW or System decoding to play avi videos. Also, it did play my mkv file, but the only mkv file on my tablet was a music video of Shakira, so I watched it 4 times, just to make sure it worked ok...... ;-)  You cannot be too careful with video tryout.

You're a legend dude!  BS Player is where it's at..  No conversion / messssing around with codecs etc.  Plays any format I've chucked at it thus far.  Lol @ the fact I initially thought you were trolling because of app name  :P

Edited for language.
