Hi. I'm a multigeneration iPhone user and I've purchased a Nexus 7 (16gb) as my first taste of Android. The iPad is just too F-ing expensive and too large in my opinion to be a reasonable E-reader. I ordered the Nexus from Google play after several day of trying to source one at brick and mortar shops failed. I'm very eager to get my hands on the thing and give it a whirl. As my iPhones have always been jailbroken to allow me to do what the hell I want with my own phone, I intend to root the Nexus first and foremost to allow OTG USB expansion. And also to allow home screen rotation. I have no idea how Android even works never mind what I'll want to hack and change about it but as I am a chronic tinkerer/modifier I'm sure I'll find lots of neat tricks. Thanks for having me.

If you like to learn and explore the world of Android and the Nexus 7 then you've come to the right place, there's lots of great info on this great forum and if you think you can mod a jailbroken iPhone then honestly you haven't seen anything yet with Android.
Once you've rooted, flash TWRP recovery which can backup the whole ROM and your ready to mod, hack and tweak your new Android tablet.
