Hi. I cant seem to open contacts in gmail. I touch the symbol top left but it doesn't open anything. Any ideas?

There are certain things you just can't do from the gmail app.
This may be one of them.

Use the "People" app -- it has all the information you want, plus you can see or not see contacts other than your Google contacts.

@Chaikenj is accurate, your contacts are in the People section.  It tripped me up as well.

I have a feeling that some of our Gmail app issues just got cured.
