Title: I need a tablet bag.
Post by: paxham on October 14, 2012, 09:34:08 AM
I've used a "shoulder bag" for years and never liked any of them.  Now I need one worse than ever to carry my gear, including wallet, phone, camera, tablet and a few accessories.  I want one just big enough to get me by.  I found a very nice one here http://www.sfbags.com/products/muzetto/muzetto.php (http://www.sfbags.com/products/muzetto/muzetto.php) that costs almost as much as my Nexus.  I'm willing to spend some money to get something I like, but I'd like some options before I drop some big bucks on this.

This caselogic case looks pretty good, with room for some additial "stuff" http://www.caselogic.com/en-US/US/Products/Tablet-and-eReader-Cases/iPad-Cases/QTA_-_110_-_BLACK_-__-_iPadand910TabletAttach%C3%A9# (http://www.caselogic.com/en-US/US/Products/Tablet-and-eReader-Cases/iPad-Cases/QTA_-_110_-_BLACK_-__-_iPadand910TabletAttach%C3%A9#)  The N7 is so small I also carry it in a fanny pack sometime.

Custom Timbuk2 Eula ?

http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/custom#/features/12 (http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/custom#/features/12)

Right size for your tablet and a few bibs and bobs and you can customise to your color requirements.

I got an Ammo Bag off Amazon for about $10.  It will due, but not very well.  It has to small pockets in the front.  One big enough to hold my digital camera, the other will just barely hold my cell phone if I strip it down.  It is a cloth bag with plenty of room, but does not hold a shape.  In short, it is not what I am looking for.

If you got some money to spend look at the Oakley vertical  messenger bag. I use it for my tablet at work and their great. I think 90 bucks was price if remember right.

You know, the "ammo bag" I ordered is working out alright at the moment.  I've got my phone, tablet, wallet etc inside.  It's also big enough to carry my lunch, but not too big to carry around.  It needs some organizational options to be really useful though.  I have just ordered a Keen Brooklyn II for $50 from Amazon.  Reviews and looks sold me on it.  If course I won't know till it gets here how useful it is.  I'll let you know how it works out.

Thats an interesting case.  I still carry around my gatdet gear in a backpack.  It used to be a hefty laptop, charger, display adapters,  and a case of burnable dvd's.  Its been replaced with a Nexus 7, thumb drive, Moga controller, various cables and chargers, Ug007 Andoid tv, ...etc. I could never get away with just a small pouch.  I would feel like im missing out on some gadget bragging opportunity.

You can always go with an "eReader Day Bag" or "Man Purse" if you prefer. It works great for the Nexus 7 or the 10.
