Well, now that I'm starting over I thought it would unlock as well. But, using Wugs toolkit it looks like it's going to work, it shows the open lock, but then when it boots up it's back in locked mode. The drivers test OK, and I have it in USB debugging mode. Any ideas on what the hold up is?? The toolkit worked so well putting me back to stock I thought for sure it would unlock as well...

Which version of NRT are you using radio?
Your N7 on 4.1.2?
-
Yes, now I have the up-date, so 4.1.2

Did you protect root with Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper?
-
Well, sorry for the odd answer but I *think* I did. I just now loaded Voodoo RootKeeper but not sure how to use it. Status shows 'device not rooted' so maybe I have to do that first??

Give it a try.

Which version of Nexus Root Toolkit radio?
-
It's V1.5.4 JayJ. It's been a while since I went through all this when I first got the tab. It shows the 'unlocked' screen when booting, then it shows up with the little locked lock in the circle. Maybe it is unlocked and I just am thinking that it didn't work???

I think you might be confusing the bootloader with the tablet screen lock. The locked padlock you are seeing is the tablet screen security lock.

Radio, download SuperSU at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu) and install, if it installs and asks if you want to update the binaries, say yes and if successful, you will know that the bootloader was unlocked.

What he (bjs229) said.

Yeah, think you guys are right... Seems before I did the 'back to new rom' I had eliminated that screen lock... duh! Sorry for all the added ink, it's a learning curve all over again. Thanks guys!

I don't know that the bootloader needed to be unlocked to update the SU binaries. Do you have anymore information on this?

I was just trying to take it one step at a time, as I felt that he had unlocked the bootloader and achieved root, so installing a super user app would allow him to run RootCheck Basic to verify root. Sorry if my post implied differently.
