As some of you might be aware, Google is holding an event on October 29th...one week from today.  While nothing has been confirmed, there have been a variety of leaks and reports of what the company is going to be showing at the event.  The main items include the next iteration of Android, version 4.2, which while still called 'Jelly Bean' will feature a number of enhancements including a revamped Gmail app, support for multiple user accounts on the same device, a new quick settings panel, added security features and improvements to both the gallery app and the Google Now function.

As far as hardware goes the big buzz is around the introduction of a Nexus 4 phone made by LG, the possible introduction, or at least discussion of a 'Nexus 10' tablet featuring 2560 x 1600 resolution display and finally more pertinent to us Nexus 7 fans...two new versions of our beloved tablet, a 32GB memory version which we've already reported as well as a 3G version.

As part of the new hardware introductions, rumors are that Google will be selling the 32GB version of the Nexus 7 at the $249 price point while dropping the 16GB model to $199.   As for the 8GB version, nobody seems to be certain if it is sticking around or not but if it is it will most likely drop to $149.   These price points should keep the Nexus 7 very competitive against the other 7 inch tablet competition that is out there, most notably the Kindle Fire HD and the forthcoming 'iPad Mini' which will probably be a bit more expensive for the same memory size as the Nexus 7.   We'll have full coverage of any Nexus 7 announcements of course the day of the event so make sure you're here to join in on the discussion that's sure to follow!
