Hi,
I recently purchased a working nexus 7 with a cracked screen. I am deciding whether to replace the screen or not, I would like to if it is a 16gb version. I have opened up the tablet no problem although I am wondering if one of the serial numbers on the inside of the tablet will tell me how much storage is on the tablet. I don't have the original box it was sold in, and I can't use the touch screen to find it through the interface.

Does the tablet turn on? Does the screen work at all?

Plug it in to a computer and see how much space it has.

If you have the tablet opened, read the memory chip for 8 or 16 on it.

Thanks fxsarge, I don't know why plugging it into a computer slipped my mind. Should have realized that, but do appreciate your input.
Thanks

Just return it for one that isn't defected....

Just look in storage.

Huh...it was bought defective??

Seems like we are going backwards. If you can't figure it out return it for a new one? How does that work exactly?

Ah my bad. When you said working Nexus I didn't realize that meant that you meant it really wasn't working. And you can't get into the settings. My mind gets lazy when reading sometimes.

I think I figured out your thinking right now. Why pay for and replace a screen on what could be an 8 gb when chances are you can buy one brand new cheap soon? Is that the jist of this twisted mess of a thread?
