Title: Root access has disappeared ?
Post by: ndemamiel on October 25, 2012, 08:15:15 PM
As soon as I got my Nexus 7, I rooted it and installed stick mount.  It worked well and all was good with the world.  I appear to have some update that has stopped root access, USB sticks no longer mount.  Is this normal ? Do I have to re root after every update ? Is there a simple fix ?

Thanks Noel

You probably just need to restore root. You should have protected it with Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper.

Bird is correct, any OTA update will unroot your device. He is also right that you could have protected your root with Voodoo OTA Root Keeper so as you haven't unfortunately you'll need to root your N7 again.

It is worth noting that the forum has a guide to installing the update.
