Of course you can! Plug the N7 into the pc and open the N7 as removable media device. Create a folder where you would like to store your music easily and drag and drop the files. Play music should automatically detect the music after it refreshes. If you have WiFi access where you want to use the audio files, you can simply upload the songs to play music from your pc. They will sync automatically to your N7, but you need Wi-Fi to play them.

Just add all your MP3 files to Google Play Music on your PC.
Anything you add there can be synced to all your devices.
If you don't have WiFi where you teach, just make sure you open the Play Music on your Nexus at home, select the playlist you want to have when teaching, and select "make available offline"
That will download the songs to your nexus7 and allow you to play them offline or online. :-)
