Title: what subscriptions can i read offline
Post by: normajean999 on October 29, 2012, 05:54:14 PM
So I am going on a trip and want to be able to read on the airplane. In just subscribed for a magazine only to find out it doesn't work offline. Is there somewhere to find out what magazines offer offline viewing. I think this is crazy they are not. I may as well go buy the magazine at the store.

I think there are apps available that allow you to save items for readability later.

I use Zinio. (https://play.google.com/store/search?q=zinio&c=apps)  All of my magazine subscriptions are downloaded to my N7.  After you read them, you can delete them to free memory on your machine.  You can download again at any time.  The biggest disadvantage is that you have to sign in with a desktop or laptop to manage your subscriptions.

I'm fairly certain that the currents app will allow a user to store selected issues on the device.

The Currents app is a newsreader.  Instructions for using the Google Play Magazines can be found at Google Play Help (http://support.google.com/googleplay/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1690246).  Personally, I've blocked the app because I don't think there is a very good selection of magazines to subscribe to.
