Vyper...welcome to the forum. I think however you need to do a bit more research and reading about the Nexus 7 as well as read through this forum as your questions aren't really making sense. There is no hard drive and no '9 gig' version of the Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 comes in 16GB and 32GB versions and no, they can't be upgraded. You can with a little work transfer data and files on and off the device using a special OTG cable. As for viewing web pages, yes it's a great device to surf the web with. Also regarding streaming video, although there is no hdmi built in the new Android version that will be coming out soon does support Miracast technology for Wi-Fi streaming of video to Wi-Fi enabled tvs. Hope that answers some of your questions but again I'd suggest you take some time and read through the forum and perhaps visit the Nexus 7 website to learn more about it.
Best of luck,
BFM

You can't open the back, Unplug the 8 gig drive, then plug in a 32 gig drive?

There is no 'drive'. The memory is flash memory that is soldered onto the motherboard. It's not a hard drive like a desktop or laptop has. No tablets use hard drives, as they are too bulky and power hungry for a mobile device. Similar to mobile phones, tablets like the Nexus 7 use different types of 'solid state' or 'flash' memory which have no moving parts. Think of the 'ram' in a computer...except not removable..

It's not like an Xbox or PC . Not that easy to play with the guts. Like BFM said everything is soldered into place and not meant to be accessible.
If you want a deal on one look for one used now on Craigslist. There are a lot of people upgrading/selling right now.

oh the motherboard would have to be replaced http://guide-images.ifixit.net/igi/xhTPAkRFCAyuI6QJ.large (http://guide-images.ifixit.net/igi/xhTPAkRFCAyuI6QJ.large)
the cam in these things only cost 2.50... you would think they could add 2.. or at least a SD card reader..

Sounds like you are considering the wrong tablet altogether. Your needs aren't a reality with the Nexus 7 line. The Nexus 10 will have 2 cameras but no sdslot.
