Title: Nexus Media Importer
Post by: andy203 on November 07, 2012, 02:52:32 AM
Hi, new to tablets and to this site. Have downloaded the nexus media importer to my Nexus 7, with a view to importing pictures from my camera SD card onto the Nexus 7. Having viewed various videos' on the net thought this would be possible. Have connected my Kingston card reader to the usb cable and into the Nexus 7, but when I open the nexus media importer and scan for Photos nothing is found, "No USB device connected" is shown. What am I doing wrong or is it not possible to do what I'm trying/wanting to do?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Andy

Andy you will need an "OTG"  cable to connect and transfer files. You can search the forum or online for sources. I paid less than $1.00 US for mine.

Thanks for that, so an OTG cable is totally different than connecting the supplied usb cable direct to card reader via a male to male connector?

Yes, the OTG (On The Go) cable is designed to connect a USB device, like a flash drive . A forum search will yield multiple sources, for ones verified to work with the Nexus 7.
