Title: Unable to connect to Verizon Fios modem
Post by: sftamx1 on November 10, 2012, 07:52:10 AM
I just received my new Nexus 7. I tried at home to connect to my Verizon Fios modem, but it just stayed on the connecting screen.I have connected with wi fi  many other laptops and cell phones on my modem so I know that it's working fine.
I then went to the local Panera Bread, where the 7 connected fine, and I was able to do an initial set up,so I know the tablet works as well.
Any ideas on what to do? Are there settings in my Verizon modem I need to change, and if so, how do I do that?   Thanks for any help!

What is the error message that you are getting?
Sometimes it is as simple as a mistaken 8 for B. I would forget your connection when it shows in wifi settings and then restart the process. Please keep us posted. I had FiOS and it worked fine.

Yes, all have been double checked.... when I go to connect, it just shows my Modem ID, and "connecting" will show but the Nexus will never connect. Password is correct. No error messages.

As an update, when the 7 asked for the password on the connect to my modem screen, I entered my password. It didn't connect. When I put in my WEP key number, it connected.  Just amounted to misunderstood terminology........
