Hi.
Recently bought a Nexus 7 and i've been trying to use wifi tethering but can't seem to be able to do it.
I have a rooted Samsung GT-I5801 phone with android 2.1 and i've been using wifi tethering without a problem with my IPAD. In Nexus, it doesn't show in the list of available wifi networks to connect.
Already tried to tether bluetooth but apparently it's not possible with android 2.1
Any ideias of what i'm doing wrong?
Already tried to install FoxFi, but it's not compatible with android 2.1
help?

Hello.
Have you tried Open Garden on your phone?
Also, if you use pdanet tablet edition on the Nexus it might help you get foxfi and the bluetooth connected. Hope this helps. I have a rooted Samsung phone on 2.1 and it runs fine.
Edit I am running 2.3 Android. Hopefully, the above works.
Eclair vs Gingerbread.

When I had a 2.1 android phone, I had the Cyanogen ROM and used the built in WiFi tether settings, with my Nexus 7. Prior to that I used Open Garden, which bjs229 mentioned.

My wife uses the updated version of an app I had on my OG droid 2.1 with her HTC Rezound. I'll post a dropbox link later. Both open garden and foxfi wouldn't work with the Rezound, so this might work for you.

Can't thank you guys enough. I did it simply by installing Open Garden in both devices. And it works through bluetooth witch is better than wifi.
Thank you!!!

Try this app from Google play.
Its much more convenient than open garden in my experience. Just toggle the widget. Why do you say that bluetooth is better than WiFi?

I used that app on my phone as well. I kept getting disconnected. The only app that allowed me to keep a solid connection is Garden Garden.
