Was wondering why some songs on my Music playlist won't sync on my Nexus 7

Songs from the exact same playlist appear and play just fine on my Sony Live with Walkman.

Any suggestions folks?

Its either file format or DRM.

Sounds like a Sony proprietary issue.

Sony is notorious for that!

Funny thing is, the tune files themselves show up on the Songs list but not on the Playlist. So I know they're there, just not on the Playlist. No problem with Playlists either on my PC or my other Android, just the Nexus 7.

What format are they and can you use another app to play them?

That isn't all that Sony is notorious for. Since the root-kit days, I have refused to spend a nickel on Sony products, no matter how good the deal might be. I like to think that I'm the reason for their recent financial problems.
