hi can anyone tell me how I down load film etc to my laptop.
many thanks

I think what bjs is trying to say is.... more information would be helpful...
-
Please elaborate on what types of files you are trying to move. I don't know of a way to move Google play movies. I am not sure if that possible.
-
Google Play movies can be moved but will only play on Google Play Movies application.

Is there some type of player from Google Play so you can watch movies you've downloaded on your computer?
Thanks!

For movies you've imported from your PC I would suggest trying the following, choose which you like.
MX Player
Dice Player
BS Player
These will not play movies from Google...

To add some additional information, if your downloaded movies are in the popular avi format or another format that will not play in the movie app you have selected for your Nexus 7, check the setting menu in the app and change from hardware decoding to software decoding.

Is there a way to actually rip it and own it for use with other apps/programs

I don't think I was very clear with my question - sorry about that. I meant, if I were to buy a movie from Google Play, is there a way to play that movie on my laptop?
Thanks for the other suggestions, that's helpful. I don't really download movies, I buy the actual disc and sometimes they come with a digital copy. I was just wondering if I did buy a movie from Google Play, if there was another way to play it. I only have experience with iTunes so Google Play is new to me.

I'm not sure if there is a program /page on the PC. I know there is a music application page. You would think that there would be a way on the computer.

Simply go to the Google Play Store on your PC and when logged into your Google account select "My Videos and TV" and your purchased movies will be listed. Tap on a purchased movie and it will play and you can even select full screen. Obviously it is streamed to your PC and that requires an Internet connection for you to use this feature. I have not seen an option that would allow you to legally save the movie to your PC for offline viewing, but honestly I have not purchased movies from Google Play, so I have not explored that option.

Thanks Prime!
I don't know how many I'd download - if any - but I'd definitely want the bigger screen option. I wonder if I could hook up my laptop through my tv and stream it to an even bigger screen that way.

You go girl. We know you got a library of movies. LOL

I do, lol! Not a lot of digital copies however. What I have work with iTunes. Why can't everything just work with everything? That would make things so much easier.

If your laptop has an HDMI port, playing your video collection through your tv equipped with an HDMI port will be easy.

They both have HDMI ports. I'll watch shows on Hulu that way when I don't want to watch on my laptop. Works perfect!
You guys rock! So helpful, thanks!

I use a Kingston WiFi drive for my movies. I play them with BSplayer on the Nexus. On the computer there are a bunch of programs that will work. Most of my movies are mp4 or avi. I have some mpeg video and some mov that I use QuickTime for.

Can the Kingston Wi-drive now use other applications to play media when streaming? I was under them impression it couldn't use other applications, has it been updated??

It works with BS . I forget if I had to designate it during setup or not. I have the latest Kingston update.
