Title: Android 4.2 BeanFlinger Daydream easter egg .
Post by: JayJ on November 22, 2012, 04:26:26 AM
I'm sure most of you know about the the Jelly Bean easter egg by pressing the Android version multiple times to reveal the large smiley faced Jelly Bean, then long pressing that Jelly Bean to reveal the BeanFlinger easter egg. Well now we have Daydream which is kinda like a screensaver for Android, whether you like it/use it or not you can now include the BeanFlinger easter egg in Daydream too...

Here's what you do...

Open the app tray or pull your Quick settings down and select Settings, scroll down to About tablet and press. Now scroll down to Android version and press multiple times until the large smiley Jelly Bean easter is revealed.

Hold your finger on the smiley Jelly Bean to reach the BeanFlinger screen.

Press the back button to exit this screen and again to reach Settings, now scroll up, select Display and then Daydream.

Here you can select BeanFlinger as your Daydream screen, turn on Daydream, select when Daydream is activated and test run any of the Daydream screens.

Here's how it looks once activated in Daydream mode.

I know, nothing major but a little piece of fun nonetheless.

Enjoy, JayJ.

Hmmm, no Jelly Bean for me on 4.2.1   I've successfully made myself a developer (hah!) by multipressing the Build Number item, but multiple presses of the Android version line have no effect.

I wonder if they removed it in the latest android builds?

Definitely has not been removed because the screenshot above are from my 4.2.1 Nexus and Daydreams isn't in any lower iteration of Android...

No, I'm definitely tapping the Android line.  I've tried tapping fast, slow, and just holding my finger on the line for several seconds, but nothing happens.  I've been sure to tap many times.  As noted above I had no trouble getting the Developer setting to activate.

My Nexus is unrooted, 4.2.1, UK version 32GB.

Puzzling.
