My wife does art shows and uses the SQUARE to run her credit card purchases. I have heard that there is a way(when WIFI is not available) to use her AT&T I Phone(tether?)in conjunction with the Nexus. Would like to here if anyone is doing this and how well does it work for you. Also I have heard that there is an addition charge(of course) from AT&T for this function.
Thanks/Jim

I don't know about AT&T, but I have T-mobile and they offer an add-on to the data package for "mobile hot spot." That feature allows me to use my phone as an internet source and then I can pick that wifi option on my N7 to obtain an internet connection.

Using a non-rooted mobile phone as a source is hit or miss, where as a rooted source is more reliable.

Try an app called Open Garden or Foxfi installed on your phone.

Going back to the OP, Square is not supported on the N7. The hardware is not there. There is another app that uses a bluetooth transmitter called PaymentMax. As far as I know, this is the only method currently supported for credit card processing.
