Hi, I love my N7 (Jellybean with latest updates) and still have to learn a lot about the new to me Android System.
How can I download the Nexus Guide Book that is located within the book icon on the N7 and save it so that I can save it to laptop or other storage device?
Also, is there a way to search what is on the N7? I have added some document files from the laptop to the N7 via the USB Cable. When it's plugged in, I can see the files but when it's unplugged I can't find them.
I would like to create a new icon (but how?) on the start up screen and place the documents into it.
I will appreciate any suggestions and have learned a lot from this forum. Thanks to all of the helpful members!

Welcome. If you look the book up on the Asus site u will find a PDF copy.

Go to the Google Play Store (http://play.google.com/store/books/) with your PC. Click on the books tab, and search for the Nexus 7 Guidebook.
ES File Explorer will help you find files and create directories.

Thank you both for writing. The ES File Explorer is great...still have to learn a little bit more about it. I found the documents I was looking for but at this point can't open them. I get the message: "Sorry, no application available". Haven't figured that out yet....
Also, I found the pdf file for the Nexus7 Guide Book, saved it to my external HDD and am a very happy camper.

it depends on what kind of document files they are. Certain files are associated with certain applications and need that app or equal to open them. An example would be .DOC used by Microsoft Word. There are a number of MS Word equivalents available on android and Kingsoft Office is one free one.

There are many apps that let you process words and view PDF. A quick search of the store will give you a world of options that will fit your needs.

Thanks for writing.
When trying to open the documents in ES File Explorer, I get the message"Sorry, no application available".
The documents I'm trying to open are made with "Open Office.org". The file extension is ".odt" Frankly, I don't know how to proceed from here...
My N7 has Jellybean with the latest updates and my laptop from where I transferred the files has Win7 on it.
So, if anybody has any ideas, I would appreciate it very much.

You don't have many choices. Either find an app that will read those specialized documents, or save the documents created in Open Office in a more commonly used format, like .doc, .rtf, .txt, etc.

Adobe Reader is free and I think will work for you.
