Title: Problem in transfering data files to Nexus 7
Post by: chandsethu on November 28, 2012, 02:15:40 PM
Hi,

I just got my Nexus 7. I have a peculiar problem. I'm able to transfer media files from my windows PC to Nexus 7 tab, however I'm unable to transfer data files like PDF, or word files. I gives me an error saying that the format is not recognized. However, the files downloaded through Wifi are opening. Could you please help me with a solution?

What version of Windows is your PC running?  XP needs Media Player 10 or higher to support MTP.

When you first plugged into the PC did windows install new hardware drivers ?
Also go to settings on the tablet tap on Storage you will see 3 dots in the upper right corner , tap the 3 dots then tap o n USB computer connection and make sure MPT is checked . this has to be checked when connected to the PC for drivers to be installed .
If things are correct your tablet should show as a drive on the PC and you can just drag and drop , create folders and such . You do not need Media Player .
