Title: Nexus7 Crashing
Post by: LenB on December 03, 2012, 09:55:51 AM
My Nexus7 occasionally crashes and then immediately reloads itself. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or know a way of overcoming it, please.

How is it crashing? Are there any toast messages (a toast is a square box in the middle of the screen with text)?

Is it a crash or a random reboot? Google is aware of random reboots and is working on a fix.

Many users with random reboots have fixed it by disabling HD Widgets.

With the new update I experience at least 1 random reboot a day. I dont use HD widgets , so that is out of the equation. Crashes and reboots are annoying but I just look at them as being part of the cutting edge. I am confident the issue is being worked on and will be fixed in the next update. I have had them happen while working in different apps so haven't been able to pinpoint the problem.
Thanks for being a part of our community.

Thanks Guys. From what you say it looks as if its a random reboot. I am using HD Widgets.
I was worried that I might have a fault on my Nexus 7. So, by the sound of your comments, nothing to worry about and that Google are working on it. Thanks everyone.

If you are comfortable doing it, I would take Matt's advice and see if HD widgets is causing you any problems. If the reboots are happening often, I would disable HDW and see if that helps.
Please let us know how things are working out.

Normally random reboots happen from ram filling up. HD widgets is a perfect culprit. Check your cached process too and see what else is filling up your ram.

I must be lucky then because I haven't had a single reboot since updating my Nexus...

I've seen several on my wife's, but experienced my first a couple days ago...
