I was using my N7 last night (Tuesday) until just after midnight. Turned it off, went to bed, and have been working all day --
So just turned it on around 5pm and was greeted with *eleven* app updates: 9 were automatic, and 2 I had to install manually. Here's the list in no particular order:
HD Widgets
IMDb Movies & TV
Falcon Pro (for Twitter)
Evernote
Kindle
Pocket
Freeze!
Global Outbreak
ES File Explorer File Manager
Google Search
Dropbox
Anyone recall the largest number of updates you've seen at one time?

It depends on how long it's been since you last updated & how long since you accessed the Internet. I've seen >25 updates when restoring a 2 week old backup.
I'm not the lowest of the low, but I am the slowest of the slow.

Every time I turn on the N7, I also turn on wireless, and I check fairly regularly for any manual updates.
And like I said, I used the N7 -- with net access -- until around midnight last night.
So, as far as I can tell, these 11 updates had to have been released since then.

That's a fairly impressive number of updates, honestly can't say whether I can beat it but why do you auto update your apps?
I like to look at apps before they update to see the changelog... I want to know what new features are included and whether the apps permissions have changed.
Anybody else or am I just odd?

I'm glad I'm not the only one, many apps especially productive apps gain features with updates and I want to know what those features are.
Take yesterdays Dropbox update, you can now move files and folders to other locations within Dropbox, a feature I have been waiting for and if I'd let it auto update and hadn't read the changelog I wouldn't know this had been incorporated...

I spend quite a bit of time each morning and evening reading the latest posts on Droid Life, Android Police, Android and Me, Android Central, and, of course, this forum. So by the time an update comes through, especially on major apps (like Google apps, Pocket, Evernote, Dropbox, etc.), I've already read a post (or often multiple posts) on the new features/fixes contained in the respective update. And I'll be the first to admit that I'm still a fairly novice Android user (the N7 is my first Android device), so a lot of what is contained in changelogs doesn't always have meaning for me, if that makes sense.

I saw the updates on my notification screen but didn't have time to accept them. Now I can't find a way to accept the updates. Can anybody explain how to find out if an app is up to date and, if not, to accept the update?

Go to the Google Play store and go to your installed apps. The ones needing updates will be at the top of the list.

Thanks, I never found the "installed apps" button before. Looks like a failed parachute to me.
