CES 2013
LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CENTER
JANUARY 8-11, 2013

CSE 2013 or Consumer Electronics Show 2013 will open on 08Jan2013. Some of the proposed products will make it to market and some won't and some will gain market acceptance and some won't. For the Android fans, at CES 2011, we saw the Motorola Xoom, HTC Flyer, HP's tablet, Samsung Galaxy, and if my memory does not fail me, the first mention of a Google Nexus device. Memory failure or not my point is that from the CES, we get a chance to look at what the manufacturers think will drive the market. The success of the manufacturer depends on the acceptance in the consummer market, as evident in the epic failure of HP's tablet venture. So, get ready for 08Jan2013 and we will see what the manufacturers see as the future for Android devices.

We will probably see the official introduction of the Nvidia Tegra 4 processor...the follow up to the Tegra 3 that's in our Nexus 7s.   The Tegra 4 is supposed to be twice as fast as the Tegra 3 and is based on the Cortex Arm-A15 chip compared to the A9 chip in the Tegra 3.   It's also supposed to feature a new 24 or 32 core Kepler GPU depending on configuration as well as integrated 4G LTE support.   It should lock up a number of design wins in tablets and phones and I full expect to see a Nexus 7 based on the Tegra 4 come Google I/O this coming summer probably sporting LTE.
