Title: WiFi extender/booster recommendation?
Post by: martyh on December 22, 2012, 03:42:51 PM
Can anyone recommend a good WiFi extender/booster? One that won't have to be reset (and reconfigured) constantly (as some require per the reviews I've read).
Thanks.

I like the Diamond Multimedia 300Mbps 802.11n Wireless Range Extender. (http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Multimedia-Wireless-Extender-WR300N/dp/B005D5M136/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1356229948&sr=8-1&keywords=diamond+wifi+extender)  It is easy to set up, works fairly well and is not too large.  To change location just unplug and move.  If you watch the sales sites, you can often find it pretty cheap.  I paid $20.

I have been well pleased with TP-Link network products and would suggest looking at the TP-Link TL-WA830RE 300Mbps Wireless N Range Extender. Regardless of your choice be sure to 300 Mbps rather than 150 Mbps. Also keep in mind that if you choose a different brand from your host WiFi router you are more likely to face connectivity and performance issues.

Tiny and S.Prime --

Thanks for the suggestions on Wireless extenders; I appreciate your response.

My current router is courtesy of AT&T, so most likely *anything* I buy will have potential connectivity probs. Even AT&T has connectivity issues with their own hardware!  ;-)

Thanx again.
