Hello! I deleted the books from my Kindle account via Amazon.com, but they are still on my Nexus 7. How in the world do I delete them? Thanks!

The easiest method is to use a file manager app. There are plenty of good ones for free. Three listed below.
ES File explorer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5lc3Ryb25ncy5hbmRyb2lkLnBvcCJd
Astro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.metago.astro&feature=related_apps#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEwOSwiY29tLm1ldGFnby5hc3RybyJd
X-plore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lonelycatgames.Xplore&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5sb25lbHljYXRnYW1lcy5YcGxvcmUiXQ..
Another option is to use something like AirDroid that lets you manager your file system from your desktop browser

You also might try plugging in your cable into the desktop USB port and using your desktop file explorer

when you download from within the Kindle app, it puts the files in the folder specified by loocid and the Kindle app will often rename them some godawful random alpha-numeric and split the file into constituents like cover, text, etc.
from what I understand, GoogleBooks does the equivalant, hoping to bust your chops into only using their books, ecosystem, etc by making things difficult....
when you download with a file manager or via usb, you have control and put them where you like with the original name.
