I received this email today. I do, however, have the Google Nexus 7 32GB 3G + AT&T SIM. Does anybody know why this case would not be compatible with that version?
Is your New Year's resolution to protect your tech this year?
The Defender Series case is precisely designed for ultimate form, fit and function while providing practically indestructible protection for your Google Nexus 7. Stay protected in 2013 with the new Google Nexus 7 Defender Series from OtterBox.
Compatability:
Google Nexus 7 16GB Wi-Fi only
Google Nexus 7 32GB Wi-Fi only
Not Compatible with the Google Nexus 7 32GB 3G +AT&T SIM

Only thing I can think of is that maybe it doesn't have a cutout for the sim port on the HSPA+ model. That shouldn't be a big deal...just pop the sim card in when it's out of the case. As far as I know the dimensions and other ports and buttons are exactly the same as the Wifi models.

Yea I saw that too but seriously $70 is way over priced check out seidio active case for $45 and there's more colors

I do, and from someone who was a huge supporter and purchaser of OtterBox cases through the years, the Seidio is on par and cheaper.
I was desperate for a good rugged case, not wanting to wait for the OtterBox, I got the Seidio... glad I did.
So, now my Nexus 7 is in a Seidio case and my Samsung Galaxy Nexus is in a Seidio case (both are the active cases)
I feel bad because I love Otter Boxes.... just the price savings was worth the switch.

How easily does it slip into a pocket? Is it really rubbery textured? That's the problem with my gumdrop. It just doesn't slide in amend out of a pocket easily.

Is the Glock in the way? Lol
I know what you mean.. the rubber grips and is hard to slide. Good and bad.

Lol.... Maybe.... Maybe not.... No its a pain in the butt to get my gumdrop case in and out of my jacket pocket. I just ordered a tpu case but would like a little more protection.

It is $39.83 at Walmart.com, but it is out of stock online right now.

I did order the OtterBox this morning, but the price can up as $46.95! Does anybody happen to know how WalMArt.com pricing works? Do they vary the pries by location or time of day?
Also, I have the Nexus 7 with cellular connectivity. Does the OtterBox cover up the microphone? If so, could I just drill a small hole in the OtterBox for the microphone?

My price shows $46.95 as well.

I picked this up this weekend from a local Wal-Mart. It is well made, but it was a challenge to open it up and since I will want the ability to remove it from the case quickly to use the ASUS dock, I decided to return this. So, I guess I will navigate around here and see if there are other threads on cases. I want a good case, BUT I also want the ability to remove it from the case fairly quickly. Does anybody know if that is possible with other somewhat rugged cases?

I think seidio makes their active cases for the N7 and that would be your best bet.

I did get a case from Trident for my wife's phone Christmas 2011. I might read up on this a little bit more.
