Title: Pop Up Adds
Post by: davidhm on January 10, 2013, 09:00:50 AM
I am a new Nexus 7 user and have downloaded a couple of games including spider solitaire. It seems they come with offensive adds that pop up at the beginning of each game. Is there any way of stopping the pop up's short of deleting the games.?
Thanks
David

Sometimes they have a paid version which is the easiest way around that. Otherwise you can root and install an ad blocker (I don't recommend that) or as you said uninstall the game or just put up with it.

It was free

I prefer to use an ad blocker. AdFree and AdAway are a couple good ones.

Are the ads pushed notifications?

Because you can go to app info (from app drawer long press the game in question and drag the icon to app info) and then Deselect "show notifications"

No, many games are funded by these adds. The notifications are going to be relevant to your gameplay and will only be displayed in the notification bar at the top of your device.
