Title: unable to sync Google Chrome
Post by: martyh on February 08, 2013, 01:32:46 AM
Hi, all -

I used to be able to see all my bookmarks -- mobile and desktop -- on my N7.

Now I only see the mobile bookmarks.

I go into Chrome 's settings, tap my acct, turn on sync -- but as soon as I leave that screen, sync turns off again. I've cleared cache and data, tried to turn on sync again, same results.

I went into settings, then my Google acct and did a sync all -- and all my accts synced except Chrome and Blogger.

Suggestions? How do I turn on auto sync for Chrome?

Cheers, and thanks.

You could try uninstalling the updates, clear data and sync...

You try signing out and back in too...

Are you using the Chrome beta?

JayJ --

No, I'm not using Chrome Beta, but just Chrome for Android.

Funny thing: After I posted my help request yesterday.... I don't recall what I was doing on the N7, but a pop-up appeared informing me that a number of apps (it listed Chrome as well as Dropbox, and probably one or two others) needed to be synced -- so I clicked on the button, and all was well with the world.

I left my post up hoping that someone would suggest something that would get me to the same point as that pop-up. Still don't know what caused it, but the Android OS must have realized my problem.

If only the N7 was always so intuitive!
Cheers,

Settings> Accounts/Google> Google account name> tick Chrome...
