Downloaded URC last night and it works great. Homescreen and all other apps auto rotate without a hitch. Just make sure in settings you choose "Forced Auto" . This is a shot of my homescreen:

Sorry I forgot to mention it is available at the Google Play store. Here is a link to their website. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate&hl=en

Thanks coolbreeze! I have the 8G so I have to be careful about how much stuff I download but that app is definitely worth the space; works great! :) :)

Yes, thanks coolbreeze, a great app. Now if we could get the lock screen to obey, then we'd be golden.
-
Just downloaded it, and it works like a charm. Thanks, coolbreeze.

Very welcome. (typed in landscape) :D

Thanks, Coolbreeze. Works well. next question: Is there anything I can do to make those "Recommendations" go away? I did manage to get rid of the Magazine display.
-
Hey RDJW, you should be able to long press on what you want to get rid of and drag it to the remove at the top of the screen to delete.
-
That's so funny! I actually did laugh out loud. I swear I had already tried that, and it just kept giving me new recommendations. But because you answered my plea, it worked!
-
Tooo funny! Glad you got rid of them, they can be annoying.
-
If I have something connected to the micro-USB port, I like to have the port at the top (i.e., the wires out of the way), which is also possible with Ultimate Rotate Control.

Which finger were you using?
-
It was the finger that rarely causes any trouble. I only have the one well-behaved finger. The rest of them seem to be thumbs.

works great! thanks!
