I set my gmail/Google + profile picture, and it showed up in my Gallery.

Thanks for your reply, birdastrompgman.  I don't know what you mean by you "set my...." etc.
What I am trying to do is to 1), copy a picture from the web while I'm browsing on the 7, and make it my wallpaper.  To do that, I think I'd have to bring it into the Gallery on the 7.  I don't know how to do that.  2), I'm trying to "import" images from my computer into said Gallery wirelessly, again so I can designate one of them as my wallpaper.  I probably didn't word that correctly in my original post.
Thanks again, maybe someone else can help.

I wasn't very clear, either.  I meant that I can change my Google Plus profile photo on my home computer, and it automatically appears in my N7's Gallery.  From there, it can be chosen as your wallpaper.

It looks like the Kies air app might be a simple way to transfer files wirelessly, but the Google Plus profile photo does it without app bloat.

Pearce, to copy a picture:

Long press on the pic/image you want
Box will come up, select save image
Go to downloads, should be in short menu or press settings, storage, downloads and select file
Gallery will be an option, select that and pic will be in your Gallery.

To transfer a picture, there are several apps,  just put WiFi transfer in the app search function and it will bring up several apps.  Let me know if you need help with whatever app you select, but most are self-explanatory.

What is the process to save a image as a wallpaper.  When I do this it wants me to crop or resize the image but then the saved image is blown out of proportion and is distorted after saving it as wallpaper.

I believe it is to keep the picture from stretching, try Flickie Wallpaper HD, PicSpeed HD Wallpapers 170,000  or Auto Resize Wallpaper app from the Google store.  Otherwise, I think it has to be around 960 x 800 if you want to try it without app.  I've always just stretched the crop box to max size and my pic is centered and full screen, but I may be lucky with the right size picture.

Is there a way to set the resolution of the N7's display?

Unless you root it, you're stuck with the 1280x800 with 216 dpi screen.....not bad for 7" tab.
