Title: problems trying to install some downloaded apk files

Hi,

Very new to Nexus 7 (had Motorola Xoom previously). Just downloaded three games Dragon's Lair, Dead Trigger and Space Ace from an apk site and can't get them to work. For Dead Trigger It says move a folder to the sdcard/Android/Obb folder which I did but it asks to download data. DL and SA have a folder that need putting in sdcard/Android/data again which I did but still asks to download data.

The actual folders I have on the Nexus 7 are just Android/data...can't find sdcard folder. What am I doing wrong?

What size are the files that you are moving to the obb folder? The obb directory is for the obb files of course. An obb is a compressed binary file that extracts as needed. The games use them to create the images and detail involved with the gameplay. The apk does not include this file. It must be downloaded or transfered separately. Do you have the obb file, or just the apk?

I must caution you that we cannot continue this topic for games that require you to purchase them from Google play. Discussing the pirating of games is not tolerated in the forum. 

Dead Trigger is a free game, so why not just download it?

As cheap as games and apps are, there is no reason to pirate. If it doesn't work, hit refund. Once you buy a program, you get updates and can install it on multiple tablets.

If you are trying to backup multiple games to restore when there is no wifi connection, some have recommended titanium or carbon. You might need root for usb file transfer.

I don't condone piracy either. I have read that the unzipped file with the sd info goes in the android/data folder. I think There is a free trial of Dragons Lair as well. So try it and if you like it buy it. personally I loved that game as a kid. I had the trial but it kept crashing.
