I have used and loved SwiftKey as my keyboard on all my Droid phones for the past couple years. They are Editor's Choice at Google Play and work extremely well at anticipating your next word or words. It learns your writing habits and vocabulary over time using your email and your social sites to learn from, and after a few weeks knows what you are going to say next before you do. Well thought out split keyboard for 7" tablets in landscape. They have a free version at Google Play to try out.
Here is SwiftKeys web address: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey.tablet.full&hl=en (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey.tablet.full&hl=en)
Here is are a couple pics of my N7 in landscape and portrait.

I will add my vote to the SwiftKey keyboard, it is basically sense technology and learns to anticipate as it is used. One thing to mention is that there is a phone version and a tablet version, so make sure you use coolbreeze's link for the tablet version. It is set as the default keyboard so it works in any app.
-
Your right Prime. It anticipates so well that I have written whole sentences without typing a word, except the first. Just watched the the suggestions populate and select. I am stunned sometimes how well it works. Got to give it time though to know you.
The split keyboard is just perfect in landscape also.

Have swift key for my GNex but preferred thumb keyboard for my N7. For those of you who haven't heard/tried it it's definitely worth a whirl

I use swiftkey both on my phone and Nexus 7. Its probably the best paid app ive downloaded ever.
-
I keep hitting the home button rather than the space bar while typing. I would have preferred some solid buttons along the bottom

I ran into issues when I would try typing in Google. It would repeat several keystrokes and then every time I would attempt to delete them it would increase the word in length. Maybe it is a browser specific issue. Anyone else ran into anything similar?
-
yeah mine does that sometimes, not really a big deal. I think it has to do with the website and not the keyboard itself.
To be honest, i am using the feature that you just talk to the keyboard and it types for you a lot.

I have been experiencing terrible lag with swiftkey tablet with key presses lagging behind by one to two words. The problem persisted after uninstalling and reinstalling Swiftkey tablet.
The stock keyboard has no such problem, and is perfectly responsive.

I dumped mine because I would constantly get lag. I would also get the little icon on the top left telling me to go into settings that were already set. Frustrating app.

I think Swype is the best keyboard around, not perfect but what's not to like about something that's fee if you sign up to beta testing...

Having a problem. My download gets opened by BSplayer. I don't know why. It fails obviously. Any ideas?

Use file explorer then...

I use SwiftKey 3 on my S3 and the tablet version on my Nexus 7 & 10.
Once it's learned your typing, it's very good.
Get the odd irritation, but you also have to learn what the keyboard can/will do in different circumstances.

I just got it tonight. Really enjoy the customization as well as a choice between the full sized keyboard layout and the split key layout. I personally enjoy the split keyboard as I can type with just my thumbs while holding my Nexus 7 in landscape, with hands on either side. Digging the neon keyboard theme selections! Worth every penny!

There is a beta out for Swiftkey's new SWYPE style keyboard.
