Title: Access to google play if bought in america
Post by: davelees on February 27, 2013, 09:24:52 AM
I'm off to america on holiday next month and am thinking of getting a nexus 7 whilst over there if the price is right.
I believe that some people have found that if they do this they've not been able to access all the google play store features that they would if it was bought over here.
I've contacted google and they reply:

]Thanks for writing back with your question about country support for Google Play.

We use the billing address of your default payment instrument in Google Wallet to help determine your home country for accessing the Play Store. Our collection of content can vary by country, so your view of the Play Store may differ from what others are seeing when you travel outside of the country listed on your default payment method's billing address.

Please note that you must have a valid payment method with a billing address located inside a country in order to access that country's Play Store.

Also, a voltage converter is an electric power converter which changes the voltage of an electrical power source - keep in mind that American household power outlets are configured differently and provide a different voltage level than those in the UK.

Does this mean that if I buy it with a uk credit card that I will access the same play store as I would if I bought one here?

Thanks

Doesn't matter where you buy it or what you buy it with. When you sign up for Google play store you have to provide a billing address and that's what they base your location from. If you want just use the address of the white house if you want the american content.

Your Google billing address is what is important.

Your Google billing address is what is important.

My address is gmail.com so that doesn't indicate that it's a uk user .

Its your physical address where your credit card bill goes.... Not a digital address.

The physical address attached to the credit card.
