Title: links forwarding me to the play store

I have been using my nexus 7 since xmass with no problems until last night. I downloaded the system update and it went smoothly but then while i was browsing reddit anytime i would click on a link that would take me to a picture someone created using the memegenerator website it would automatically forward me to the google play store and show me some game that i had never heard of. Has anyone else ever seen anything like this?
any help would be much appreciated.

It stopped doing it on its own so.... Problem fixed?

I  assume it was a Reddit issue and not a Google one.
