Title: Anyone tried this dock??
Post by: radiocycle on March 01, 2013, 05:09:12 PM
Ran across this on Drippler: http://www.gearzap.com/google-nexus-7-case-compatible-desktop-sync-and-charge-cradle.html (http://www.gearzap.com/google-nexus-7-case-compatible-desktop-sync-and-charge-cradle.html)

This looks like just the ticket for my bedside dock.  It has a little insert that you can remove that makes room for a slim-fitting case.  Shipping is not too bad either.  Just wondering if anyone out there might have any 'hands-on' feedback.  I may just hve to go for this one unless I hear otherwise...

I saw that on drippler, was it $30 no audio out and speakers blocked in back and headphone jack inaccessible? I'd rather have the pogo dock. Or maybe a pogo dock bluetooth keyboard case someday.

Even using BT sound most of the time.,  The internal  speaker is important to me. I pass.

Ah, OK I see what you guys want... I just need it charged and maybe see the screen next to the bed as an alarm clock.  I may still check it out, not sure.

Be sure and get the Skype lockwidget so your boss can stare at you oversleeping...

I looked at this dock and rejected it like all the other portrait docks.  They use the standard mini-usb connector and I feel that will get very worn or damaged over time.  The official dock is lovely if a little more expensive. It holds the 7 in a much better landscape mode and has a socket for high quality sound out.  See my other post of today for more information on this.

Ah, interesting info M1ke.  My only prob with some of the docks is that you can't use them if your device has a case.  I like a case on my N7 because of the excellent 'auto sleep function' that a case with a cover affords.  So until they come up with a good dock that works with my slim-fit case, I'll just lay it on the table somewhere while it charges...
