Title: Old WiFi locations from previous device appeared on new Nexus??
Post by: G_Bant on March 04, 2013, 08:20:14 AM
Hi, new to the Nexus 7 but not to Android!

Probably a simple answer to this question but I thought I'd come on here and ask anyway!

Got my new Nexus 7 last Friday and have only played around with it in the house, connected to my personal WiFi. I arrived in work this morning and was attempting to connect to the works WiFi when I noticed all the previous WiFi locations that my other droid devices (Galaxy S2 etc) have connected to; these were places like my parent's house where I haven't been since Xmas!! So my questions are these really:

1. Do droid devices sync their WiFi location history with Google which is then shared to all Google account related devices?

2. If so, what else does it share?

Thanks in advance.

1) Yes, your WiFi data can be saved to your Google account.

2) Obviously your google play purchases are stored, as are your free installed apps.  Apps which support it will save their settings (Not too many do, but Locale is one app that I use that migrates its settings between devices automagically).
