I wonder how many nexus 7 users use encryption. And if they do, do they use the built in encryption capability or a separate tool.
Encryption seems like a no brainer for a portable device but ease of use and reliability are important factors. I have not tried the nexus 7 encryption because of warnings about its irreversibility and the long time it would take to encrypt. So it was like jumping into a pool in the dark.
What are other users thoughts or experiences?
Encrypting a data portion of the storage space would seem more reasonable as long as it did not damage speed of use and could be reversed. My favorite tool in Windows is Truecrypt but it does not work in android. Any similar options in android?

Really? Nobody uses encryption?
That might be true.

Since I use Exchange Email, I have the ability to remotely wipe my tablet at the point it connects to the Internet, if lost or stolen. Adding a screen lock gives me the device security that I need, so I don't feel the need for encryption.

I too have the capability to remotely wipe the device via Avast Mobile Security which is why I haven't explored the topic till now. Feels good to know someone as knowledgeable as you doesn't use it.
Thanks.
