Title: New member with a question please?
Post by: Rimmer on March 19, 2013, 08:59:07 PM
Hi,

New to tablets. Purchased a Nexus 7 to run navigation software. The inbuilt gps receiver doesn't quite cut the mustard with signal strength in my vehicle.
I'd like to connect to one of these external gps receivers http://www.chartandmapshop.com.au/23814/GlobalSat-BU353-USB-GPS-Receiver/0?gclid=CMPutualirYCFQhLpgodl0AA0A (http://www.chartandmapshop.com.au/23814/GlobalSat-BU353-USB-GPS-Receiver/0?gclid=CMPutualirYCFQhLpgodl0AA0A)
It states they will only run on windows or apple based os.
Any suggestions to connect to the jellybean os?

Thanks.

If you turn on Wi-Fi, it helps with the signal. Just a suggestion. Also consider enabling Google location services.

If you get an external gps with Bluetooth, it looks like this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=googoo.android.btgps&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImdvb2dvby5hbmRyb2lkLmJ0Z3BzIl0.) will let you connect it to your Android device.
