Title: connecting to external monitor
Post by: chrism on March 20, 2013, 05:42:57 PM
I am thinking about buying a nexus 7 and am impressed with the ability to use an external blutooth keyboard with it making it almost like a small laptop. I am however interested to learn if there is any way to link the "7" up to anther monitor to increase screen size making it more "computer" friendly.  My wife wants a computer/tablet so she can facebook, ebay, and do general computing things without having to be all that "techie". She has poor eyesight though and the larger screen would help her see a little better.
Any suggestions?

Look at the Nexus 10,  it has an HDMI port.

Better yet, buy a $50 mini-pc.  Get a MK808B from Geekbuying.com.  See this thread. (http://nexus7forum.com/the-lounge-off-topic-forum/android-mini-pc/msg16514/#msg16514)

Unfortunately, it can't be done with the N7.  There are other tablets out there that have an HDMI port that will allow you to do this such as the N10.  Many phones also have HDMI out.  For instance, my Droid Razr phone has HDMI out so I could hook it up to my TV, pair it up with Bluetooth mouse & keyboard and pretty much have a mini-PC such as birdastrompgman mentioned.
