Title: How can I close Tabs?
Post by: ufauxreal on April 03, 2013, 10:29:23 AM
I keep getting a message saying too many open tabs will slow the Nexus down, and indeed it has. I can barely open web pages, some won't open at all. I know that you hit the 'x' to shut the tab down. What I don't know is how to access the tabs. Occasionally a page will open with all the tabs visible along the top, but most places I go... email, Amazon, my RSS feeder, don't.

So, my question is... how can I access the tabs so I can close them.

Thanks!
JB

If you are using Chrome and do not have more than 6 tabs open, you may have incognito tabs open. Open Chrome - tap the three vertical dots in the upper right corner - tap "New incognito tab" - Note incognito at the bottom of the screen and the Spy pictured in your browser bar - Close all tabs that you have open and you will go back to your normal browser window. If you had multiple incognito tabs open, your issue should be solved.

Thanks, but I mostly use Dolphin. I was using Firefox, but it kept crashing. Maybe I should start using Chrome? I use Chrome almost exclusively on my computer.

In the mean time, can anyone tell me how to access tabs in Dolphin?

Thanks.

if you are not in full screen mode you should be able to see all your tabs/windows. Either click the little x on each of them or close the main window and choose close all tabs.

Thanks for your replies. I solved the problem by using Chrome as my default browser. On chrome I can almost always see the tabs, and close the ones that are no longer relevant.
