Title: gps broken?
Post by: sir_benji on May 10, 2013, 06:53:49 AM
I bought a nexus 7 a month or so ago and I have never been able to get the GPS working.  Right after I bought it, I installed the 4.2.2 update.

I have "gps satellites" checked in the settings, and "wifi and mobile network location" unchecked.  I don't want to use mobile network location -- only the GPS.

I installed a program called "satellite check" by ds software, but it can't locate any satellites.

Is my nexus broken?

I use GPS test at the Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chartcross.gpstest and have verified that it works using only GPS enabled, you can use it to verify that your GPS has failed.

Look for the power control widget in your app drawer. The center button should toggle gps and turn blue when activated.
