Title: Nexus 7 almost comes to a standstill
Post by: DC_FC79 on June 03, 2013, 09:10:14 AM
Just recently the nexus is a bit slow, the browser I use (chrome) is just unresponsive and am unable to  open any apps.

Ive downloaded the App Easy Cache Cleaner but it still hasnt helped. Even gone as far as removing some apps I hadn't used for a while hoping it might have helped but still not the same.

Any ideas guys ?

What version of Android are you running?

To find out...

Settings> About tablet> Android version...

If your not up to date then I'd suggest updating your tablet, if you are then maybe it's time for a factory data reset...

As JayJ suggested a "Factory Reset" is always a good option, but just to make sure, I will have to ask, since you did not state the obvious first option with a sluggish N7, have you tried restarting the device or what is referred to as a soft reset?

Before resetting my N7, I'd check and make sure the slowdown isn't a network problem.  I'm on cable service and sometimes the whole network will slow down if several people go online at the same time.  A lot of devices on your local network could also slow you down.  Try rebooting your router.

My slowdown happened when i was almost out of space. If i notice any lag ,it is usually time for a reboot which usually helps. Sometimes a reset is in the cards, like JayJ suggested.

Yes sorry about that, my description wasn't the best. Im trying a soft reset now.

If i left the tablet alone for a while and came back to it this is when I would tend to notice the tablet being sluggish.
