Title: What should the 2nd generation Nexus 7 be called on the site?
Post by: Babyfacemagee on July 22, 2013, 06:09:24 PM
As we await the arrival of the 2nd generation Nexus 7 Tablet you might have noticed we've added a whole new section dedicated to this new device.  We'd like to get your input however as to how the new Nexus 7 should be referenced in the site and in the forum.   It seems Google will continue to call it just 'Nexus 7' thus what are your ideas to differentiate the original 1st generation model from the 2nd?  We've listed some ideas in the poll above but if you have a better idea let us know!  Maybe we'll use it!

matt's Nexus HD is a good suggestion and follows the Amazon naming scheme for the Kindle, but since there is not a lot of innovation room here, I suggest following the market leader, Apple, as much as I hate to say it, on this one, and go with a numeric distinction. So I suggest, Nexus 7.2.

If the 7 is the screen size, 7.2 might be confusing. *MkII, *b? Apples have worms.

I do agree with matt's naming scheme for Apple.
