Title: CAMERA. Nexus 7 16GB Running Android 4.3
Post by: Eglwyseg on July 30, 2013, 09:22:21 AM
Hello,

My new nexus 7 device, according to the specification has a camera but I can see no buttons or icons to operate it.  I can see what I believe is a lens at the top front.  I have downloaded the full user manual but no mention of a camera in these instructions.

Can anyone help me?  Do they all have cameras?  How do they work?

Any help appreciated.

The old n7 had only a front camera with no icons. You may be able to access it from gallery. The new n7 has a rear camera and the icon is at top right in landscape.

Hold your finger down  on the lens and a menu opens with options.

Thank you both for your answers.  The finger over the lens didn't work for me but I have found out since posting, my device comes without a button or icon to start the camera which to me seems very strange indeed.  Why on earth put a camera on the device and not be able to use it.  However, I have discovered that I was able to download an app called "Camera Starter" from the app store.  Puts an icon on the screen and the camera fires up perfectly.

How cool is that?
