Title: Reports of New Nexus 7 multitouch issues
Post by: Babyfacemagee on August 13, 2013, 05:23:03 PM
So just as we seem to possibly have received an update to fix the GPS issues that plagued some users, there are reports that some 2nd generation Nexus 7 owners are experiencing multitouch problems.  Anyone here affected?

I've had some problems just while browsing the internet. It seems as if there are dead spots sometimes and the only way to be able to use those areas is to zoom in on them, then you can select them.

I am not sure what you mean by multitouch but my Nexus 7 (2nd gen) has stopped responding to my screen touch.
The screen opens and displays the page and time but will not respond to my password anymore. It is unusabe at the moment. Anyone have any ideas?

Hold the power button until it completely shuts down. A momentary press only puts it to sleep. Then hold the power button until you see the Google logo. This is called a reboot.

If the issue persists, the next step is a factory reset from the boot loader/stock recovery or a reinstall of the operating system with adb and a computer.

I'm uncomfortable helping bypass password security as I have no way to verify name and address and serial number. I would suggest using the official support channels for this. The tablet will lock down after too many incorrect password attempts. Not saying that's the case here, but still...

Use an OTG cable and plug in a USB mouse to type in the password.

I still have the keyboard bug where the text jumps back in the paragraph and edits the text on its own. Very annoying. I am going to make a video to show what I mean.

My touchscreen is too sensitive, sometimes selecting just before the touch. There are some touchscreen drivers on xda if you've rooted. It won't mess up the ota updates.

I have both multi and single touch issues sometimes, but it is almost always fixed with turning the N7 completely off then on. 8)
