so i downloaded groove ip to use google voice as a voip to use my n7.2 as a phone lol ,. and it work great BUT in canada google voice only allowes u to make calls , NOT receive or sms ..

any canadian users find a way to use voip to send sms and receive calls?

posted in GENERAL area.. admins ever think there might be some1 in GENERAL that could answer the friggin question that isnt likey
 to go hunt down the piddly tiny canadian section.

You could always move south, ay. Maybe some other Canadians will join soon, now that they can buy the new n7. Try some other apps like talkatone?

i did, talkatone says the same thing, i guess i really am wondering if there is a work around or some other option besides googl;e voice to obtain the desired outcome.

can i move in and be your "couch guy" ?

will706, I moved the topic to the Canadian section because you named the topic 'Any Canadian users here?'.  Thus the content might be of interest to other Canadian users.  If you had named it something more general and non-country specific like 'using voip to send sms and make calls'...which is really what you're looking for... I would have left it in general or even the help section.  Make sure your topics fit the content from now on.

Hah! Too old to do that and lose guitars again. (60 strat). prob has something to do with canadian telephone utility, you could tunnel vpn to the u.s. but then your number would be long distance to your next door neighbors. Check the google voice forums for such an app-centric  problem?
