Title: google chrome pop ups
Post by: matt on August 27, 2013, 08:36:46 PM
On this site I get a pop up for ad choices. Other sites have pop ups as well. In settings, I have them blocked. Have seen redirects too. Does chrome beta work any better?

Installed Adblock plus. The porn redirects on xda were fixed by changing the site view to 'classic'

I cannot stand pop up ads, they are written in JavaScript and could contain trojan code. Negative advertisement.

I'm probably in the minority among internet users.  I don't use ad blockers.  On my favorite sites, I occasionally click on an ad even though I don't have the slightest interest in what is being advertised.  It costs money to maintain a website and my clicking on an ad is my method of contributing to the site owner.

I have no problem with normal ads. When I see redirects and pop ups it makes me think the site has been hacked.

I rarely encounter popups on the Nexus. If I do they usually get blocked automatically.

The only pop up I get when coming on here with Chrome from my phone or tab is for Tapatalk...

That might indicate malware on my n7. A first for me. Have scanned with lookout, no threats.

The ad choices/kontera pop ups are only on this site. They occur with both nexus 7 versions. Many times, the pop up freezes and can't be closed. Ad block works a bit until it loses localhost, then I have to reconnect. Disabling javascript works, but I lose the embedded links and bookmarks. Ciao.
