Hi: Interesting discovery. I bought a case for my shiny new Nexus 7. When I closed the cover the tablet went to sleep.
I suppose everyone on the forum knows about this feature but I've never seen it mentioned in advertizing for the tablet or for the case.
The case is a hipstreet Portfolio Slim and it works quite well. I bought it for it was the only case available locally and not after careful research!
Does a nexus 7 also make coffee if you press the right button? ;)

Good idea! WiFi enabled coffee machine with android remote control app.
-
Let's develop an Android coffee machine with an HDMI port and then a Chromecast enabled app where we can make coffee from any mobile device.

Who wants to program in java?

good grief, what have I started? I assume that everyone knew about the sleep switch.
Actually you can use the Nexus as a tray for your coffee cup and there is room for a chocolate biscuit ( I think that is cookie in North America). It stops marking your desk. 0:-)

Well, yes, there is a magnet in the case. My coffee machine has a timer and a ups to keep it going in power outages. I miss using the DVD tray/cup holder on my computer.
-
Yes, those drinks holders on desktops actually worked better than the one in my car.
I think we'd better stop this or someone will accuse us of being frivolous on a serious Forum.
-
No complains from the moderator team, fun adds to the community spirit. I wouldn't mind an Android powered coffee machine so long as it had the biscuits or cookies too... lol

Far from being frivolous, I've found this thread to be thought provoking and useful. I'm going to put the Nexus 7 coffee hack on my list of things to invent.
Unfortunately, it may be a while before I can do any serious work on it. I've still got to finish the Tiny Monocle (my answer to Google Glass).

To bad they call it the "iKettle". I could never believe it tasted good.

Boiled coffee is old school, even for me.

I am contacting Jura Capresso and requesting an Android upgrade for my coffee center.

Jura? Great machine for an auto. Nice.
